Argentina geography
The diversity of topography and climate within Argentina allows you to arrange your trip during any season. The northwestern landscapes are dominated by the peaks of the Andes, the northeast of the country houses the Amazon Jungle, Iguazú and the Jesuit missions. Patagonia extends from the Atlantic beaches where sea mammals are abundant, to the lakes region, further south to the impressive glaciers. In the center of the country lies Cuyo, famous for its wines, mountains and the Pampas, well known for their gaucho traditions.
Parks and reserves
Myriad reserves and natural parks, each more spectacular than the last; this is Argentina’s nature, a land of dreams for the traveler in their quest for landscapes of absolute beauty. According to Argentine legislation, only recreational activities can be carried out within the 36 national parks and protected areas of the country, which cover 13 million hectares.
Argentine anomalies
Although it faces tough competition from the north of Argentina, Patagonia is still the most mythical region of the country. We recommend, in particular, Nahuel Huapí and Lanín Parks, and further south, Los Glaciares and Torres del Paine (Chile) Parks. The wine route today supports the success of the Mendoza region, from where you can take advantage of the proximity of Ischigualasto and Talampaya Parks. Two animal sanctuaries: the Valdés Peninsula and Esteros del Iberá are exceptional places for wildlife lovers and ornithologists. Two other regions which will surprise us with their beauty are the Argentine Northwest and its Chilean neighbor, Atacama Desert. Last but not least, you simply cannot miss out on the Iguazú Falls, nor the nightlife of Buenos Aires, where you will experience the passion of the tango rhythm.
